LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A heat wave has arrived in Southern California, and some parts could experience triple-digit temperatures Wednesday.
A heat advisory is in effect through Thursday evening for a large swath of the region. Officials warn residents to limit outdoor activities and stay hydrated amid the hot temperatures.
Relief from the heat will arrive before Memorial Day weekend. A cold front moving down from Northern California Friday will cool us off.
Los Angeles and Orange counties Wednesday can expect a high of 85 degrees and a low of 64. Temperatures increase slightly Thursday. The cold front will bring temperatures back to the 70s for Memorial Day weekend.
The valleys and the Inland Empire will experience the brunt of the heat wave. Wednesday will hit a high of 100 degrees and a low of 61. Similar weather is expected Thursday before things start to cool off again. Expect weekend temperatures in the 80s.
Beaches Wednesday will see morning fog and afternoon sunshine amid a high of 75. Expect similar conditions for the next few days.
The mountains Wednesday will be sunny and warm, with a high of 77 and a low of 42.
Deserts Wednesday can expect a high of 96 degrees, with Palm Springs reaching a high of 107. Thursday will also see a high in the mid-90s before temperatures drop by a couple degrees Friday.
