Light rain sweeps through western Las Vegas | Las Vegas Weather

The western Las Vegas Valley saw light sprinkles Friday morning in the first rain many residents have seen since last month.

The National Weather Service said measurements were less than a tenth of an inch in the western valley. The rainfall had not reached Harry Reid International Airport, meaning today’s rainfall is not recorded in the valley’s official climate record, at least not yet.

“It’s really just wet pavement, roads might be a little slick,” said Morgan Stessman, meteorologist at the National Weather Service.

The rain sweeping in Friday in the Summerlin area formed over the Spring Mountains in the morning and slowly drifted east. This should be it for rain for the weekend, Stessman said, with the forecast through Sunday calling for clear skies and dry weather.
