Kaiser Permanente to open new Everett urgent care in 2027

EVERETT — Kaiser Permanente plans to open a new urgent care in 2027 in Everett, the healthcare system announced in a press release Thursday.
The nearly 12,000-square-foot facility will be another expansion of Kaiser’s Everett Medical Center, located at 2929 Pine St. In June 2025, Kaiser opened a $270 million expansion of the center as part of a $1 billion investment to support upgraded facilities throughout the state. The expansion nearly tripled the facility’s footprint.
“The majority of costs” for the urgent care were factored into the $270 million expansion plan, Kaiser spokesperson Linnae Riesen said in an email Friday. The 2025 expansion was intentionally designed to accommodate future growth, including an urgent care, Riesen said.
The facility will include 20 exam rooms and have extended hours, according to the release.
“We’re pleased to deepen our commitment to the Everett community with this expansion. Everett has experienced tremendous growth in recent years, and we’ve heard clearly from our members and the community that greater access to urgent care close to home is needed,” said Cynthia Dold, regional president of Kaiser Permanente Washington, in the release.
Currently, the closest Kaiser urgent care facility to Everett is the Capitol Hill Medical Center in Seattle, Riesen said. Since 2020, Everett has gained about 4,300 residents, according to estimates from the state office of financial management. The city is preparing for an additional 65,000 residents by 2044, according to its comprehensive plan.
“Adding urgent care capacity in Everett will help us better meet local need, improve convenience for our members, and connect more patients to care within our integrated system,” Riesen said.
Kaiser is also aiming to increase primary care access in Everett, Riesen said. By the end of September, it will have added five primary care doctors in 2026.
Kaiser will have a more exact date of the opening as it gets closer, Riesen said. The facility may also provide more jobs, and that number will also become clearer as the opening date nears, she said.
