Jackson airport continues operations amid government shutdown

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Jackson Municipal Airport Authority (JMAA) addressed how the ongoing federal government shutdown is impacting airport operations.

According to The Hill, flight delays at major airports across the country have occurred this week, as staffing shortages continue amid the ongoing government shutdown.

The Jackson Municipal Airport Authority (JMAA) is committed to keeping our passengers, partners, and community informed about the potential impacts of the ongoing federal government shutdown on airport operations.

Operationally, TSA officers and air traffic controllers-both essential personnel-continue to work and ensure the safety and efficient processing of our travelers.

Despite the challenges of a federal shutdown, JMAA remains confident in the dedication of our teams and federal partners who are working to keep our airports running as smoothly as possible.
