Inane drivel on federal land and water | LETTER | Letters

I think a reality check is in order. About once a week on Review-Journal editorial page we are assaulted about the dreaded federal government’s ownership of the lands surrounding Las Vegas and its effect on housing prices. This is true. But until the water crisis is resolved, all this inane drivel is a rather moot point.

If the water shortage is not resolved, the tradeoff becomes power generation versus drinking water.

The tri-state area faces a new federal framework released last month. Deeper cuts are in store for Nevada’s Colorado River water allocation. The Review-Journal and some letter writers might want to focus their energy on something meaningful.
