Cheyenne Avenue is set for a $2 million weekslong repaving project in the northwest valley starting next week, which will restrict traffic to one lane in each direction.

The repaving project will begin Monday and run through Aug. 31 on Cheyenne between the 215 Beltway and Durango Drive/Rampart Boulevard, the city of Las Vegas announced Friday.

Cheyenne will be restricted to one lane in each direction between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work associated with the project includes utility work, milling, dense-road repaving and re-striping.

Drivers can take Lake Mead Boulevard and Alexander Road as alternate routes for eastbound and westbound travel during the Cheyenne work.

Amrize Inc. is the contractor, with the city managing the project that is being funded by the Regional Transportation Commission’s fuel revenue indexing tax.
