Gallery: Storms downpour rain, hail across Central Texas Wednesday

AUSTIN (KXAN) — Storms dumped rain and hail across the Central Texas area Wednesday evening. 

The National Weather Service issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the entire Austin metro counties and all of the Hill Country as storms develop. 

KXAN viewers sent in photos and videos of heavy rain and hail in their area.

The video below from Casey Legg captured hail plopping into pool in Leander.

Viewers sent it photos of fallen trees after the storm.

  • Tree branch snapped on Tillery Street (KXAN Viewer)
  • Fallen tree at 16th Street and Ulit Avenue (KXAN Viewers)

KXAN’s Meteorologist Nick Bannin said the Severe Thunderstorm Watch would be in effect until 10 p.m. Severe storms are possible late in the day on Thursday.
