BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Our weather team is issuing a First Alert Weather Day for the rest of the day Saturday due to poor air quality.
Air quality is unhealthy for sensitive groups in most places as of Saturday afternoon. A few locations have seen air quality deteriorate enough to be unhealthy for everyone.

An Air Quality Alert is in effect for the North Country and all of Vermont except for Bennington and Windham County through 12 a.m. Sunday.
Limit time outdoors and avoid strenuous outdoor activities, especially if you are sensitive to air pollution. Groups that are most at risk include young children, older adults and anyone with asthma or other pre-existing respiratory or cardiac issues.

The First Alert Weather Team is continuing to monitor air quality through the weekend. Additional haze is likely through Sunday. Current forecasts show slightly less smoke than today, but air quality may still be unhealthy for sensitive groups. Another First Alert Weather Day may be issued if air quality remains poor.
