PAWTUCKET, R.I. (WPRI) — An investigation is underway into the cause of a fire that broke out in the middle of a Pawtucket road Wednesday evening.
Officers responded to the intersection of Mendon Avenue and Cottage Street around 7:30 p.m. after receiving a call about the fire.
Police said the flames were out by the time officers pulled up, and broken glass was found scattered in the roadway where the fire was initially reported.
The Rhode Island State Fire Marshal and the Pawtucket Fire Department are now working to determine the cause of the fire. It’s unclear whether the fire has been deemed suspicious.
