ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Freeze warnings and Sunday red flag warnings will hit parts of New Mexico as overnight lows fall into the upper 20s and wind gusts reach 45 mph.
Skies will stay mainly clear Saturday night, with temperatures dropping below freezing late at night in parts of northern New Mexico.
Freeze warnings remain in effect for parts of eastern New Mexico late Saturday night through 8 a.m. Sunday. Temperatures in some of those areas could fall into the upper 20s.
Red flag warnings will take effect Sunday afternoon from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. for dry and windy weather. Winds may gust from 35 to 45 mph, which will raise the wildfire risk.
Sunday will otherwise stay mostly sunny and quiet across much of New Mexico. High temperatures could climb into the lower 70s across much of the Albuquerque metro area, while high thin clouds may increase across southern New Mexico.
