CIBOLA COUNTY, N.M. – A suspect turned himself into Cibola County Sheriff’s deputies Sunday for a homicide reported over the weekend.

Deputies arrested David Thomas Byington for a homicide near Candy Kitchen and Pinehill. They previously took Tonia Byington into custody in connection with the investigation.

Details are limited, including when the homicide actually happened. However, deputies said David Thomas Byington drove away in a Ford Ranger pickup truck.

He now faces an open count of murder. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
