Diane Keaton, ‘Godfather,’ ‘Father of the Bride,’ ‘First Wives Club’ star, dead at 79

Diane Keaton, the legendary actress known for her roles in “The Godfather,” “First Wives Club” and more, died at the age of 79.

PEOPLE confirmed the actress died in California. A family spokesperson asked for privacy, per the report.

She won an Oscar for Best Actress for 1977’s “Annie Hall,” and she rose to fame due to her role in “The Godfather” films.

Keaton also starred in hit films including “Baby Boom,” “First Wives Club,” and “Something’s Gotta Give.”

Keaton, who was also a writer, director, and photographer, was also famed for her relationships with Hollywood stars including Al Pacino, Warren Beatty and Woody Allen, according to The New York Post.

She is survived by her two children, Dexter, 29, and Duke, 25.
