SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Vince Danh, a local small business owner and community leader, Tuesday announced his candidacy for the at-large seat on the Sioux Falls City Council.

According to a news release, Danh’s priorities for his platform are responsible growth, a stronger community, and equal opportunity. Danh’s parents moved to Sioux Falls from Vietnam in 1993 after reading an article, citing the city as one of the best for small businesses.

A history of protesting in Sioux Falls

“Our city offered my family the opportunity to succeed,” Danh said in a press release. “They opened Sioux Falls’ first Vietnamese restaurant and built a great life here. Now it’s my turn to give back and help build a city where every family, no matter where they came from, can succeed.”

Danh is the co-founder of 4Front Studios, a local creative agency. He serves on the board of Downtown Sioux Falls, Inc., and is a graduate of Leadership Sioux Falls and Leaders of Tomorrow.

Danh also mentors and collaborates with entrepreneurs through Startup Sioux Falls and has helped organize numerous cultural events such as the Sioux Falls Lunar Festival.

Throughout helping a diverse section of the community, especially with entrepreneurs and nonprofits, Danh said his experience has helped shape additional priorities in his campaign, which include more affordable housing and childcare, planning for affordable infrastructure, supporting small businesses, and easier access to city services.

“The Sioux Falls I believe in listens with genuine care and invites everyone to a seat at the table,” Danh said in a press release. “Only together can we face these challenging times.”

An official launch party is set for Thursday, Oct. 23, at Pho Quynh. The municipal election is June 2026.
