BRANDON, Miss. (WJTV) – The City of Brandon is searching for a new mail contractor to generate utility invoices to customers.
Brandon Mayor Butch Lee said the city found out through its billing software company that the mail contractor closed their doors. Professional Mail Services, Inc., had been contracted with the city for utility bill processing since 2015. They would send invoices to customers at a quick rate.

Lee said the utility invoice covers water, wastewater and garbage pickup. When the city found out the contractor closed its doors, the mayor said Public Works employees did what they could to try and send the invoices out on time.
“We had to stamp every envelope and stuff every envelope, and hopefully, we’re just maybe two days off of when people would normally get there utility invoices,” Lee stated.
According to the city, all customers should receive their invoices by Friday, May 23. The city is also offering a grace period for this billing cycle.
Lee said they began searching for a new contractor last week.
