Bond denied for man charged in fatal Alcorn State University shooting

LORMAN, Miss. (WJTV) – Bond has been denied for the man charged in connection to the fatal shooting at Alcorn State University.

Claiborne County deputies said Taevion Doss, 26, appeared in court on October 17, 2025, where he was denied bond.

Arrest made in fatal Alcorn State University shooting

Doss has been charged with murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and possession of a weapon on school property. 

The shooting happened around 6:30 p.m. on October 11, 2025, in the area of the Industrial Technology Building. The incident occurred the day of Alcorn State’s homecoming game.

When officers arrived, they found three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims, who was identified as Brekyra Fisher, 29, of Vicksburg, died.

The investigation is ongoing.
