The bats came alive late for the Huskers, as Dylan Carey and Jett Buck each hit a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to give the Big Red some insurance.

As a team, the Huskers tallied nine hits and committed one error, while the Jackrabbits totaled seven hits and had zero errors.

Nebraska got the scoring started in the bottom of the fourth inning as Trey Fikes hit a single just over the second baseman’s glove to bring home Buck, making the score 1-0.

Later that inning, Mac Moyer grounded out to second, but Joshua Overbeek crossed home plate to make the score 2-0 Huskers.

A pair of fantastic defensive plays in the top of the seventh inning allowed Nebraska to stay in control of the game.

Carson Jasa fielded a bunt and flipped it to home to get the first out of the inning and save a run. Buck threw out the next runner at the plate from left field.
