Arkansas softball will open its SEC Tournament stay with a game against Mississippi State on Wednesday at approximately 1 p.m. Central at John Cropp Stadium in Lexington, Kentucky.

The 10th-seeded Bulldogs were on the ropes against 15th-seeded Kentucky, the host team, but stormed back with a 3-run bottom of the seventh inning for a walk-off 4-3 victory in an opening round game Tuesday.

Arkansas won a series at Mississippi State over the April 10-12 weekend, winning Games 2 and 3 by a combined 18-3 score after losing the opener 1-0.

The Razorbacks (41-10) are ranked fifth nationally but earned the No. 7 seed for the conference tournament with a 15-9 league record. They are rated No. 1 in RPI.

It is the final scheduled year for the SEC Tournament to be hosted by one of the league’s 15 members with a softball team. Vanderbilt does not have a softball program.

The league recently announced the event will head to Toyota Field, the home of Minor League Baseball’s Rocket City Trash Pandas, in Madison, Alabama, beginning with the 2027 SEC Tournament. It will mark the end of a 23-year era of the tournament rotating through campus sites.
