President Japarov pardons Farid Niyazov

AKIPRESS.COM – President Sadyr Japarov has pardoned Farid Niyazov, the former head of the Presidential Administration.

The information was confirmed by the Presidential Administration on May 31.

Niyazov, a supporter of former President Almazbek Atambayev, had been in custody since August 8, 2019 following the Koi-Tash events.

Although he was released during the October 2020 political unrest, he was detained again on October 9, 2020.

On June 3, 2025, the Pervomaisky District Court sentenced Niyazov to seven years and eight months in prison. He has now been granted a presidential pardon.
