OTS Secretary General: Baku conference to contribute to unity of Turkic peoples

AKIPRESS.COM – The conference held in Baku to mark the 100th anniversary of the First Turkological Congress is a continuation of the historic forum held in the city a century ago, Caliber cited Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Kubanychbek Omuraliev as saying.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of Turkic World Week, Omuraliev said the current forum was initiated following a proposal by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev at the OTS summit in Gabala last year.

He also highlighted the level of cooperation and unity among Turkic states.

“I believe that this conference will contribute to the unity of our peoples,” he added.
