Cabinet Chief Kasymaliev inspects construction of several major projects in Karakol
AKIPRESS.COM – Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev, during his working visit to Issyk-Kul region, inspected the progress of several construction projects in the city of Karakol.
He first visited the Karakol wastewater treatment facilities, where demolition and earthworks have been completed, and a warehouse and administrative building have been constructed. Equipment has also been installed, with the project expected to be fully completed by autumn 2026.
Kasymaliev then inspected the construction of a new congress hall with a total capacity of 1,500 people. The facility will include a large hall, an additional hall, a conference room, and a library.
He also reviewed the construction of a large multifunctional sports complex on a 12-hectare site. The complex will accommodate up to 5,000 people and will include an Olympic-standard swimming pool, a 200-seat hotel, and a 275-place sports boarding school.
The Cabinet noted that Karakol has a population of around 100,000, but welcomed approximately 300,000 tourists last year. The city is currently undergoing major development, including improvements to roads, housing, water and sewage systems, tourism facilities, and transport infrastructure.
Kasymaliev instructed government agencies and the city mayor’s office to ensure high-quality construction and strict compliance with project deadlines.
