The Chairperson of the National Elections Commission, Professor Abednego Akok, says the Commission will maintain neutrality and non-partisanship throughout the election campaign period.

Speaking during the official launch of the civic and voter education campaign in Juba this morning, Prof. Akok said the campaign will be conducted in a neutral manner to ensure fairness and credibility in the electoral process.

He said the Commission will engage all registered political parties on an equal basis, ensuring a fair and non-partisan approach throughout the process.

“The campaign will remain strictly non-partisan. The National Election Commission serves the people of the South and it requires conduct in work for the parties. To the leaders of political parties, the Commission is committed to engage all registered political parties on an equal and non-partisan basis,” he pledged.

Following the launch of the civic and voter education campaign in Juba today, the National Elections Commission also released a seven-step voting guide to help voters understand the voting process during the upcoming elections.

The seven steps will guide voters on what to do on election day as part of preparations for the country’s General Elections.
