The Chamber of Deputies was installed on Friday evening following the swearing-in of its 130 members elected for the 2026-2031 term at a session led by the Board of Congress’ Preparatory Committee, chaired by Deputy Cecilia Chacon de Vettori.

The session was held in the Senate Chamber of the Republic.

The ceremony began with the reading of Deputy Cecilia Chacon de Vettori’s credentials, after which she was sworn into office.

The other deputies serving on the Board of Congress’ Preparatory Committee were then administered the oath of office.

Luis Quispe Candia was the second to be sworn in, following the reading of his credentials accrediting him as a deputy.

Romina Uribe Saenz was sworn into office as well.

The remaining deputies were then called in alphabetical order.

“Following the swearing-in of each of its members, I declare the Chamber of Deputies duly constituted,” Cecilia Chacon de Vettori stated.

She also announced that the deadline for submitting the candidate lists for election to the Chamber of Deputies’ Board expires on Saturday, July 25, at 5:00 p.m. (local time).

Specifically, the Chamber of Deputies comprises 130 members: Popular Force Party (41), Together for Peru Party (32), Good Government Party (18), Popular Renewal Party (15), Civic Works Party (14), and Now Nation Party (10).

Earlier, Congress’ Preparatory Committee for the 2026-2031 parliamentary term was installed and declared itself in permanent session.
