The Cost of the Fourth Panama Bridge is Raised to $2.387 Billion Due to the East Interchange Addendum

The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) and the Panama Fourth Bridge Consortium (CPCP) signed an addendum to the contract for the Fourth Bridge over the Panama Canal to redesign the East Interchange, a modification that will raise the total cost of the mega-project to $2.387 billion and extend its delivery until December 2028.

“The largest interchange in Panama and probably in Central America will ensure that traffic flows efficiently to and from Panama City,” Andrade stated, highlighting that the new structure will more seamlessly connect La Amistad Avenue, the Albrook terminal, the Northern Corridor, Omar Torrijos Avenue, and Ascanio Arosemena Avenue.

The addendum signed between the Minister of Public Works, José Luis Andrade, and a representative of the Panama Fourth Bridge Consortium represents an additional investment of $295 million and is for the redesign of the eastern interchange.
