INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The University of Indianapolis is offering a free vaccination clinic from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Schwitzer Student Center on UIndy’s campus.

The university is partnering with the Indiana Immunization Coalition and the Central Indiana Area Health Care Education Center to offer free vaccines to members of the public. UIndy will offer the following vaccines at the clinic:

• Hepatitis A and B
• The flu
• HPV
• Meningitis
• Whooping cough
• Pneumonia
• Tetanus

According to a release from the university, it says that recent outbreaks of measles and other preventable diseases highlight the importance of these clinics. UIndy says that the amount of measles cases reported this year is already 600 more than what was reported all of last year.

“By hosting this clinic with the Indiana Immunization Coalition, we’re helping remove barriers and make it easier for both individuals and families to get the protection they need,” said Toni Morris, associate professor of nursing at UIndy. She is also the organizer for the clinic. “Each vaccine we give at this clinic not only protects people and their loved ones, but also helps protect the broader community across Central Indiana.”

For people who need vaccines with multiple sets of shots, UIndy is offering clinics on Nov. 3 and April 6.
