INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A person is dead after a fatal crash took place on the city’s northeast side Saturday afternoon.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, at 4:21 p.m., officers were called to the 6400 block of East 46th Street, off Shadeland Avenue, on the report of a two-vehicle crash with injuries.

Police did not say what led to the crash, but said both drivers remained on the scene.

One of the drivers was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but died at the hospital.

Police say impairment is not believed to be a factor in the crash.

No further information was shared but IMPD says the fatal crash investigation team has taken over the investigation.
