INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Two 18-year-old men face charges in connection with a March shooting that left two juveniles injured, Indianapolis police announced Monday.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says they were called to a home in the 5800 block of Coppock Drive near South High School Road and Kentucky Avenue on March 19 on a report that multiple people were shot.

They arrived and found two teens – a 16-year-old boy and a 17-year-old girl – suffering gunshot wounds. Both were taken to hospitals in “stable” condition.

Detectives at the scene began speaking with witnesses and canvassed the area for evidence and security camera footage, soon after identifying the 18-year-old suspect.

IMPD detectives and U.S. Marshals on Thursday tracked the suspect to an area along North Arlington Avenue. He was taken into custody on preliminary charges of battery with a deadly weapon and robbery resulting in serious bodily injury.

A separate 18-year-old also involved in the incident was arrested by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office in August.

News 8 has reached out to IMPD for more information on the suspects. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office was expected to make final charges.
