Dubai: UAE presidential advisor Anwar Gargash has said that any unilateral move by Iran regarding the freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz cannot be trusted, following what he described as “treacherous aggression” against its neighbours.
In a statement shared on X, Gargash emphasised that the security of the vital waterway, a key artery for global oil shipments and trade, must be safeguarded through collective international efforts rather than individual arrangements.
He highlighted that “the collective international will and provisions of international law” should serve as the primary guarantee for maintaining freedom of navigation in the Strait, particularly in a post-war context.
