Muscat: The Chamber took part in the 68th Board of Directors meeting of the Federation of GCC Chambers, held virtually with representatives from across the Gulf. The discussions focused on upcoming plans and activities of the Federation’s General Secretariat, with the objective of strengthening its role in representing and advancing the interests of the GCC private sector.

In addition, the Chamber joined the 14th consultative meeting between GCC Ministers of Trade and Industry and heads of chambers and federations. The meeting addressed pressing logistical concerns, including the movement of trucks amid the current crisis, shortages of equipment, containers, and storage facilities for strategic goods, as well as rising costs related to shipping, transportation, and marine insurance.

His Excellency Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas, Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, highlighted that such engagements are critical to enhancing coordination among Gulf chambers and advancing economic integration. He stressed the importance of strengthening institutional cooperation frameworks and launching joint initiatives to improve the business environment and boost the competitiveness of GCC economies.
