China’s veteran ideologue and Xi Jinping’s top strategist is set to visit North Korea this week, state media from both countries announced Tuesday, continuing a slew of senior cross-border exchanges.
Wang Huning will lead a Chinese party and government delegation to North Korea from Wednesday to Friday at the invitation of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) and the DPRK government, the Korean Central News Agency and Xinhua reported Tuesday.
The outlets described the trip as an “official goodwill visit,” without providing details about the itinerary or agenda.
