Kathmandu, May 8

The parliamentary hearing process for proposed Chief Justice Manoj Sharma is set to begin today. A meeting of the parliamentary hearing committee has been called for 4 pm on Friday.

The meeting will take place at the office of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee in Singha Durbar. The agenda of the meeting includes moving forward the parliamentary hearing process for Sharma, who was recommended for appointment as chief justice by Thursday’s meeting of the Constitutional Council.

However, criticism has emerged over the recommendation, as Sharma was ranked fourth among the six recommended candidates.
