Fires in Parsa, Kathmandu and Dang cause damage worth millions

Fire incidents in Parsa, Kathmandu, and Dang have caused damage worth millions of rupees.

A fire at a clothing shop in Birgunj Metropolitan City-6, Parsa, caused damage worth Rs 1.2 million.

The fire broke out on Saturday night due to an electrical wire short circuit at Durga Ready-Made Suppliers, run by Raj Kumar Sah of Parwanipur Rural Municipality-4, Bara.

Police said clothes inside the shop were burnt. The fire was brought under control with the help of fire engines and locals.

Fire at a clothes stitching centre in Kathmandu

A fire at a clothes stitching centre near Radha Krishna Temple in Ward 16 of Kathmandu Metropolitan City caused damage worth Rs 350,000 the previous night.

The fire broke out at around 12:15 am at the clothes stitching centre operating on the ground floor of Jagrit Khanal’s house.

The cause of the fire has not been determined, though it is suspected to have been caused by an electrical wire short circuit.

Police Circle Balaju said the fire was brought under control with the help of locals and police.

Fire in Dang as well

Similarly, a fire broke out due to an electrical short circuit at the house of Ramesh Kumar Gupta in old Bhaluwang Bazaar, Rapti Rural Municipality-1, Dang.

Police said the fire broke out around 9 pm on Saturday when wires in the house’s meter box short-circuited, burning and destroying clothes, a refrigerator, and other household items inside the house.
