No Signal, a new play by theatre artist and writer Subash Adhikari, was officially released at the Shilpee Theatre in Battisputali on Tuesday. Following the book launch, a panel discussion was held where actor Pashupati Rai, theatre practitioner Gunjan Dixit, and the author shared their insights on the play’s themes, human psychology, and contemporary social relevance.

The interaction session, moderated by theatre practitioner Ghimire Yubaraj, delved into the artistic merits of the book. Speaking at the event, actor Pashupati Rai remarked that Adhikari has done complete justice to all the characters in his work.

“Adhikari, despite being a man, has brilliantly portrayed the psychology of female characters in the play,” Rai said, adding, “The dialogues in the play leave the readers with deep, lingering questions.”

Similarly, another panellist, theatre practitioner Gunjan Dixit, praised the book’s readability, sharing that it was so engaging that she completed it in a single sitting.

“This book reflects contemporary society, and the conversations and issues raised within it are universal,” Dixit said. “I could easily relate to the characters.”

Reflecting on his work, author Adhikari stated that through this book, he has attempted to bring a sense of newness and experimentation to the Nepali theatre scene.

“Residing in Sweden allowed me to explore various experimental plays, and that exposure inspired me to write this book,” Adhikari said.
