Government on improving the overall health sector: Minister Mehta

Kathmandu, June 7

Minister for Health and Food Safety Nisha Mehta has said that the government is working to improve the overall health sector. At a meeting and discussion organised with journalists here today, she said that the Ministry is working to identify the problems seen in the overall health sector, resolve them, and make plans effective.

The government has been working on health as a priority under its 100-day governance reforms initiative. Mehta said that the activities of the ministry will also be made effective through regular coordination, information and communications.

Secretary at the ministry, Dr Bikash Devkota, said that the government is committed to providing basic health services to the people. The problems seen in the health insurance program will be resolved soon, as work is being done to make the health insurance scheme accessible for all.
