Implementation of NOC’s budget in accordance with Unified Spending Agreement also discussed

The National Oil Corporation’s (NOC) chairman, Masoud Suleiman, reported yesterday that he had met with the Senior Policy Advisor for Libyan Affairs at the US State Department, Jeremy Berndt, where they discussed several files related to the oil and gas sector in Libya.

The two discussed the implementation of the NOC’s budget in accordance with the (US-brokered) Unified Spending Agreement, and the importance of providing the necessary funding to ensure the stability of operations and the sustainability of production, and to support the NOC’s plans to increase production.

The situation of American companies operating in the Libyan oil sector, and ways to support and enhance their presence and cooperation with the NOC to contribute to achieving its goals of increasing production, were also discussed. These included the importance of supporting the NOC and enhancing its capabilities to perform its tasks efficiently.

Masoud reported that the importance of maintaining the stability of the Libyan oil sector was emphasised enabling the NOC to perform its role as a national technical institution, ensuring continuity of operations and supporting the national economy.
