The Benghazi based Libya Development and Reconstruction Fund (LDRF) reports that it is continuing implementation of the development of Lake Julyana and its promenade in the city of Benghazi, in a large-scale urban project, with a total area exceeding 1.6 million square meters.

The project combines the rehabilitation of the lake and its banks and the development of public facilities and green spaces in an integrated scope.‎

‎The project includes a 5.5-kilometer sports walkway, a bicycle track and multiple playgrounds, in addition to about 678 thousand square meters dedicated to landscaping and green spaces, integrated with the network of paths and sports and recreational facilities on site.‎

‎The development importance of the project is highlighted in the extension of its works, from rehabilitating the lake to developing its surroundings, and linking the waterfront to facilities and public spaces, in a way that enhances its integration with the urban fabric and makes it a component of the new urban landscape of Benghazi.‎
