Libya’s Tripoli based Minister of Housing and Reconstruction, Issam Al-Tamouni, received a delegation from the Chinese firm Sichuan Huayuan Construction Engineering Co., Ltd. at his Tripoli office yesterday.
This follows a meeting by the Chinese company with the Chairman of Libya’s Savings and Real Estate Investment Bank last Wednesday 23 September.
The meeting was attended by Abu Bakr Misbah, Chairman of the Savings and Real Estate Investment Bank, along with ministry advisors.
The company delegation presented an overview of its projects and operations across various African and Asian countries, encompassing real estate developments, infrastructure and utility networks, as well as buildings and facilities.
Readiness to undertake investment projects in Libya
The company expressed its readiness to undertake investment projects in Libya, and the meeting explored various avenues for potential cooperation.
Establishing cement, ceramics, bricks and masonry factories
The Minister highlighted the possibility of collaborating with the Savings and Real Estate Investment Bank and forming partnerships with local investors or stakeholders to establish manufacturing plants for construction-related materials—such as cement, ceramics, and various types of bricks and masonry blocks.
Registering a branch in Libya
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed that the company would proceed with registering a branch in Libya and finalize market studies relevant to its business activities.
Both parties agreed to continue discussions regarding the specifics of the company’s entry into the Libyan real estate investment sector.
