The first phase of the project covers 275 kms

The Media Division of the Hafter commanded army, based in eastern Libya, announced today that it had signed a contract with a Turkish company – pronounced as ‘‘IKTECHNIK’’ at the signing ceremony by a member of the ceremony team.

The Media Division said the integrated project contract is to manage and monitor 275 kms in the first phase of the project under its “Vision 2030”.

This initiative, the Media Division added, falls within the framework of its efforts to ensure the stability of Libya’s land borders with neighbouring countries. It focuses on enhancing security and economic coordination to combat smuggling, drug and arms trafficking, illegal migration, and transborder crime, while countering any threats to national sovereignty.

It said Hafter’s army has accorded special attention to the border file, recognizing the importance of safeguarding Libya’s sovereign rights and ensuring that the management of this critical issue proceeds without negligence, complacency, or delay.

No more details about the contract, its implementation timeline or its costs were revealed.
