Germany’s BMA signs contract to construct 2,500 tons per day Julyana Sugar Plant

Julyana Free Zone reported today that Mohamed Ben Attia, the Juliana Sugar Project Manager, signed a contract to construct the Juliana Sugar Plant with the German company BMA—one of the world’s leading sugar manufacturing firms.

Julyana Free Port said this agreement marks the commencement of the project to build a modern industrial facility that meets international standards.

Project Manager Mohamed Ben Attia explained that work is underway to establish an integrated plant in the Julyana area with a daily production capacity of 2,500 tons, under an implementation schedule spanning a maximum of 24 months.

Ben Attia emphasized that the project aims to provide a competitive domestic sugar product that meets local market needs and eventually expands into regional and international markets. This initiative seeks to support the national economy, create job opportunities, and develop the country’s food processing sector.
