Central Bank Announces 30th Issue of Unrestricted Mudaraba Deposit Certificates

Tripoli – The Central Bank of Libya announced on Sunday that it has invited commercial banks to subscribe to Issue No. 30-2026 of unrestricted Mudarabah deposit certificates. The procedures and regulations will follow those of previous issuances.

According to the bank’s official statement, the new certificates will be available starting September 24, 2026. There will be three categories of certificates, each with a nominal value of 10,000 dinars. Maturity periods are set at 91, 182, and 365 days.

The certificates will mature on December 24, 2026, for the 91-day certificates; March 25, 2027, for the 182-day certificates; and September 24, 2027, for the 365-day certificates.

The bank said that after proper evaluation, 99.75 percent of investment returns will go to the subscribing bank, while 0.25 percent will go to the Central Bank of Libya as the Mudarib, or investment manager.

Expected profit margins range from 5.5 to 7.5 percent per year. The bank emphasized that these rates are estimates and not guaranteed.
