From May 23 to 26, Kyrgyzstan will host the Asian Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships at Zhashtyk Arena in Bishkek for the first time. This was announced at a press conference.
Athletes and team representatives from 19 Asian countries—more than 200 in total—will participate in the competition.
The tournament will be held in two age categories: juniors and seniors. Kyrgyzstan will be represented in both categories. Sofia Yarovaya, Nailya Omurbekova, and Kanykey Stamalieva will compete in the junior group exercises. Zlata Arkatova, champion of the 2025 World Junior Championships, and Asel Arapova will represent the country in the senior individual program.
The championship is particularly significant as it serves as a qualifying tournament for the World Championships and the Asian Games, which will be held in the fall of 2026 in Japan.
The championship is organized by the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports together with specialized sports structures.
