At 3:34 p.m. on August 14, the Central Asian power grid switched to an isolated operating mode due to a high-voltage power line outage in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Energy said.
Kyrgyzstan also temporarily operated in this mode.
The ministry said the protection system was activated to safeguard the equipment. The situation is currently under control of power sector specialists.
According to the Ministry of Energy, there are no consumers without electricity, and power is being supplied as normal. Specialists will provide additional information on the cause of the brief disruptions.
Earlier, power outages were reported in Almaty. An emergency disconnection of three KEGOC lines caused disruptions in several districts of the city and Almaty Region.
