The US Embassy in Kuwait has renewed its security alert for American citizens, urging them to reconsider travel to or transit through the Middle East amid continued regional tensions and the possibility of sudden escalation.
In a statement issued through its consular affairs channel, the embassy said the security situation across the region remains “complex” and subject to rapid developments. It advised US citizens to exercise heightened caution, remain vigilant and closely monitor news updates for any changes that could affect their safety.
American travelers currently in, or planning to pass through, the region were also advised to contact their airlines to confirm flight schedules and check whether any security developments have affected travel plans.
The embassy said it continues to provide limited emergency consular assistance to US citizens. Those requiring urgent help were advised to contact the designated consular affairs email channel.
For passport-related services, the embassy confirmed that renewals and new passport applications remain available through advance appointments booked via its official website. Eligible citizens may also use the Drop Box service to renew passports without attending an in-person appointment.
However, non-emergency consular services, including visa processing and notarization services, remain suspended until further notice. The embassy encouraged citizens and applicants to regularly check official updates for announcements regarding the resumption of these services.
