Under the patronage and presence of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, a ceremony was held on Wednesday to honor Kuwait’s outstanding athletes for their achievements during the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 sports seasons.
Organized by the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs and Ministry of State for Sports Affairs, the event took place at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center (JACC).
During the ceremony, His Highness the Prime Minister honored distinguished athletes from various Kuwaiti sports federations, clubs, and governing committees in recognition of their achievements.
In a statement following the ceremony, His Highness the Prime Minister commended the athletes’ achievements as a source of national pride, noting that their performance reflects the determination and resilience of Kuwait’s youth in raising the national flag across international sporting arenas.
His Highness emphasized that the state’s recognition extends to the technical, coaching, and administrative bodies whose efforts were instrumental in securing regional and international podium finishes.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing a supportive environment that fosters sustainable athletic excellence, adding that investing in national youth talent remains a cornerstone of Kuwait’s strategic sports development.
Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Minister of State for Sports Affairs Dr. Tariq Al-Jalahma stated that the honoring serves as a national gesture of appreciation for the athletes’ dedication.
He reaffirmed the ministry’s mandate to bolster institutional support and enhance Kuwait’s global standing in sports.
Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports Bashar Abdullah Al-Salem said the ceremony reflects deep appreciation for national athletes across various disciplines for their dedication and efforts in representing Kuwait.
The event was attended by Minister Al-Jalahma, Chairperson of Salwa Al-Sabah Sports Club Sheikha Naeema Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Acting Director General Al-Salem, along with sports federation and club leaders and senior officials from the Public Authority for Youth and Sports.
