Municipality, MEW, EPA campaign cracks down on state land encroachments in Hawalli

Kuwait Municipality, in coordination with the Environment Public Authority and the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, carried out a joint inspection campaign in Al-Shuhada area of Hawalli Governorate to remove violations and encroachments on state property.

The campaign was conducted as part of the municipality’s ongoing “Kuwait is more beautiful without encroachments” initiative, which aims to eliminate illegal structures built on state lands and preserve the appearance and safety of residential areas.

Head of the Violations Removal Department at Hawalli Governorate Municipality, Ibrahim Al-Sab’an, said the field campaign is continuing to achieve its objectives by identifying and removing unauthorized constructions.

During the inspection tour, municipality teams removed an iron fence erected near a residential property. Following the removal, officials discovered workers’ accommodation facilities and bathroom connections built in violation of regulations.

Al-Sab’an said the municipality immediately coordinated with the Environment Public Authority and the judicial enforcement team of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy to take the necessary legal measures.

He stressed that Kuwait Municipality continues to enforce regulations governing cleanliness, road occupancy, public safety and agricultural requirements, while ensuring that property owners comply with approved standards.

The official urged individuals who have encroached on state property in private and model housing areas to remove violations voluntarily before facing legal action, including possible financial penalties.

Kuwait Municipality launched the “Kuwait is more beautiful without encroachments” campaign in June as part of a wider effort to protect public property, remove illegal structures and improve the overall appearance of residential areas across the country.
