As part of efforts to enhance operational efficiency and streamline its administrative structure, the Ministry of Interior has restructured leadership positions that will see the retirement of approximately 55 brigadier-generals and major-generals from various security sectors.

The officers were recently summoned and informed of decisions to retire them effective July 1.

Informed sources said the move forms part of the ministry’s broader strategy to rejuvenate the security establishment, align leadership capabilities with future requirements, and improve performance across all sectors.

The sources explained that the retirement decisions affect senior officers from multiple departments and are intended to create opportunities in inject new blood into the system to assume key security and administrative responsibilities.

The initiative also seeks to leverage younger talent in senior positions and strengthen institutional succession planning.

Officials emphasized that the measures are part of an ongoing development and modernization program within the Ministry of Interior aimed at enhancing security preparedness, raising operational standards, and ensuring the continued infusion of expertise and competencies into leadership roles, reports a local Arabic daily.
