Ten suspects in various cases have been arrested in possession of various quantities of drugs, alcoholics beverages, firearms and cash, “with a view to trafficking and consumption”, said the Ministry of Interior (MoI).
The arrest is part of the efforts of the MoI’s Criminal Security Sector in fighting the scourge of drugs and psychotropic substances and cutting off their sources, the ministry added in a press release on Thursday.
One kilogram and 10 grams of methamphetamine, 2,218 capsules of Lyrica, 2 kilograms of Lyrica powder, and 5 grams of hashish were also seized during the police operation, it added.
Four Captagon pills, 60 bottles of alcohol, three firearms, two sensitive scales, eight mindaltering pills and KD 8,179 in cash as trafficking proceeds, were also seized, the ministry explained.
All the suspects and their seized items were taken to relevant investigations agencies to take the necessary legal action against them, it noted.
