Kuwait strongly condemned Friday the criminal Iranian aggression involving missiles and drones that targeted the country’s territory, describing it as a flagrant violation of its sovereignty, security and territorial integrity.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the attack struck a power generation and water distillation plant, causing a fire and damaging several electricity generation units.
It said the attack constituted a serious violation of international law, international humanitarian law, the UN Charter and UN Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026).
The ministry warned that the continued aggressive approach represents a dangerous escalation threatening regional security and stability, openly defies international legitimacy and undermines efforts to reduce tensions and reach peaceful solutions.
It stressed Kuwait’s inherent right to take the necessary measures to safeguard its sovereignty and preserve its security and stability in accordance with international law.
