Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense announced that the Al-Abdali border crossing came under attack on Thursday afternoon by hostile drones, resulting in material damage but no human casualties.
In a statement, the Ministry confirmed that specialized response teams were immediately deployed to the site, where they took the necessary measures in coordination with the relevant authorities to secure the affected area and assess the situation.
The Ministry added that Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams from the Kuwait Land Force have begun inspection and clearance operations to safely remove the remnants of the drones. The teams are following approved technical procedures to ensure the site is fully secured and that any potential risks are eliminated.
Reaffirming the Armed Forces’ readiness, the Ministry of Defense stated that Kuwait’s military continues to perform its duties with the highest levels of efficiency, vigilance and operational preparedness to safeguard the country’s borders and protect its security and stability.
The Ministry emphasized that the situation remains under control and that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the safety and security of the border area.
