Four firefighting teams from the Al-Shaqaya, Jahra Al-Harf, Qirwan, and Al-Isnad fire centers successfully brought a fire under control on Friday at the Naayem Scrapyard located along Salmi Road in Kuwait.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene immediately after receiving reports of the blaze, deploying firefighting units and support equipment to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby scrapyard facilities and surrounding areas.

Firefighters worked intensively to contain the fire amid challenging conditions often associated with scrapyard incidents, including the presence of combustible materials, heavy equipment, and dense smoke.

Authorities said the coordinated response by multiple firefighting centers helped bring the situation under control within a relatively short period, minimizing potential damage and reducing risks to nearby properties.

No immediate reports of injuries or casualties were announced, while relevant authorities began assessing the extent of the damage and investigating the cause of the fire.

The Kuwait Fire Force continues to urge facility operators and industrial site owners to comply with safety and fire prevention regulations to reduce the risk of similar incidents, particularly during the summer season when high temperatures can increase fire hazards.
