The “Global Steadfastness Flotilla” is preparing to depart on Thursday from the Turkish Mediterranean city of Marmaris in a renewed attempt to challenge the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip, with the participation of 54 vessels.اضافة اعلان

The announcement was made during a press conference held by several members of the flotilla’s board of directors in Marmaris, located in Muğla Province in southwestern Turkey, according to Anadolu Agency.

The new voyage follows an earlier incident on 29 April, when Israeli forces reportedly intercepted vessels associated with the flotilla in international waters off the coast of Crete.

That previous convoy included 345 participants from 39 countries.

According to the report, Israel detained 21 boats carrying approximately 175 activists, while the remaining vessels continued toward Greek territorial waters.

The initiative is part of a series of attempts aimed at challenging the Israeli blockade imposed on Gaza since 2007, amid ongoing humanitarian deterioration in the territory.

The report states that the situation has worsened significantly since the outbreak of war in October 2023, with widespread destruction of residential infrastructure and the displacement of approximately 1.5 million Palestinians within the Gaza Strip.
